Cheryl Owen is a highly versatile craftsperson and designer. After working in the fashion industry, she went on to apply her design and drawing skills to mixed craft media. Author of a wide range of titles, Cheryl is also a regular contributor of craft projects and articles to leading homestyle magazines. She is the author of Handmade Gift Cards, Simple Glass Painting and Creative Ceramic Painting, also published by David & Charles. Cheryl lives in London.

The chapters offer detailed instructions throughout and are accompanied by clear photographs to illustrate each technique. The book also includes 20 projects to try your newly aquired skills on. The wide variety of projects are all small so perfect for some initial practise. The more unusual projects include a yoga mat carrier, trapunto box, a sarong with a seminole border and a wuilted silk belt with flower applique.

same clear instructions and pictures. Different contrasting colours have been used throughout so that it is easy to see what is being done and when. I cannot rate this book highly enough. It's extremely informative
and it's a book I'll be using time and again.
