Punch needle embroidery is a traditional technique that came out of the US in the 19th century and is similar to rug hooking. A strand of thread is pushed through loose-weave fabric, making a ‘loop’ on the other side. Repeated several times, this simple action creates a stunning, decorative, tactile design.
