'With funny, amazing characters these quick reads are just the thing to settle down with.'- Tracy Shephard, Postcard Reviews

When sixty-eight year old Sarah Miller moves into the Cunningham Village retirement community, she is mourning the loss of her husband, her young grandson, and the place that has been home for forty-two years. But Sarah is a survivor. As she reaches out into the retirement community that is to become her home, she find friends, activities, new hobbies, a possible love interest, and of course, crimes to solve and murderers to track down.

The seventh instalment of this fun, friendly series of cozy mysteries centres on Sarah’s friend Sophie, as she encounters several major life changes, including two new family members and a job working with abandoned animals.

Postcard Reviews

The Rescue Quilt is one about our animal friends and as life continues to be good for Sarah and Charles they find themselves in the midst of a mystery that involves their friend Sophie. I have loved Sophie throughout this series, she is funny, unpredictable and very very caring.

Sophie has volunteered to drive abandoned and unwanted animals to a shelter, where they will be looked after.

Sophie finds a dog, dirty and seemingly 'asking for help'. When she follows the dog home she discovers a man lying in a pool of blood. Of course with every one of these books there is no real violence, so as we discover the story of how and why the man died it gets very exciting if not a little sordid.

With Charles's experience in the law and her best friend Sarah, helping her keep sane, Sophie is trying to keep it together as she finds herself a suspect.

This book is amazing. It highlights the plights of our animals and show how the kindness of humans can make their lives better.
